When you use a come along, you do not connect it directly to what you are trying to move. You use ropes or a wire rope to attach the come along to the thing you want to move that is still 50 feet away. The come along just makes you much stronger than pulling on that rope with your bare hands. Once you have moved that hanger by 10 feet it should be free of what had it hung up.
