Went into Lowes today and was surprised they are already clearancing all of their stoves. Anyone thinking of buying one from Lowes should go take a look!

Our local Home Cheapo has all the stove stuff buried in a corner behind all the XMAS Stuff, but the weed wackers and lawn crap still out in the open, gotta climb over crap just to get to the stuff. Unreal!

Maybe they figure with this weather, the lawn stuff is going to sell more than the stove/fireplace stuff. My lawn is dark green and growing! It actually is to the point were it could use a trimming! My forsithia and lilacs are starting to get leaves on them too. Way to warm and wacky for me!

Buyers remorse!!!

If only i had waited, they dropped the one I have from $440 to $380...

Oh well, it's in and it works great, and already saved that much because I have not turned on the furnace yet...

yea, most likely they are seeing the trend in weather, and are moving inventory before January so they arent "stuck" with it.

Funny, the price of woodstoves is almost like the price of Gold...
The CFM model I installed last year in my house I bought on sale for
little under $300. This year, at the beginning of the heating season,
it was retailing for almost $400! Now, with temps. & fuel prices not being
as high as anticipated, the price has dropped down below $300 again.

Same story here, I was at the Lowes in Bloomfield CT and they are dropping their prices. The Century wood stove that was $750 is now $600 and the smaller model that was about $450 is down to $360.

i just left lowes today with 2 stoves. The smaller Century 1000sf cost $110 and the larger Century 2000sf for $215. Not sure what I'm gonna do with them yet.

Ouch that hurts! At that price you could practically sell them for scrap iron and make money! (not really LOL) At that price burn em, or sell them for profit. Great deal! Surprised they had any left. Up here theyve been gone for weeks!

Go buy the one that is $380, stick it in the back of the garage over the summer, then sell it on ebay for $800 next fall! :)

I was thinking of that. Locally they want 329.00 for the englander at the Borg. I thought THAT was good. Stove is in perfect shape and I could put that in my basement. A lot cheaper and bigger than a Morso.

I think winter is over at Lowes. I bought one Pellet stove , one small and one large wood burning stove for 85% off. I could not belive it when I saw it. I don't know how they make any money at all when they do this. These where not the last of the the stove either. They still had a good supply left. Now I have to keep one for me. HUUUMMM I don't know yet witch one but I do know that my van will be sitting out for a while. :)

What area are you in? They have been out of stoves here for well over a month.

Same here BB. They used to carry the inserts at lowes but stopped about 3-4 years ago. Oh well. not my lucky day.

Im in the FAR SOUTHWEST Burbs of Chicago. The Lowes I went to was not the one in my area, It was about 35 mins away. We have Lowes all over the place. I need to find the vent kit they carry. It was $200.00 for everything you need, but they where sold out of them. Oh well I might be lucky and find one of the on sale too.

That vent kit is a regular stock item- your best bet is to go and ask them to do a lookup of other stores in the area, have them call and verify the kit is in stock, then go get it.

to tell you the truth guys, I dont think i would ever buy a stove from a bigbox..support your local dealer.

Both the Lowes and Home Depot here have been out of stoves for about a month now. Thought about a pellet stove there when it was at $875 but it was gone before I could research it.

I did support my local dealer about 2 years ago, but when I had a problem, he did not want to support me. So now is my turn to make some money. Im keeping the pellet stove, Im going to use this pellet stove as a back-up when it's REALLY cold out. Now I just have to decide where to put it, main floor in living room or down in the basement to keep that warn so the kids can play. I don't know yet.

yeah that can happen, however, there are many success stories out there about supportign your local dealertoo. THis past year I had an Avalon rainier installed. After two months of burning it I was not satisfied with it due to not enought burn time and the heat output wasent what I expected, so I called the dealer whom I bought it from and requested the Olympic be installed. In doing so, they gave me a 100% refund back on the Rainier and I just had to pay the difference on the cost of the two stoves, it was another $400 I believe..You cant argue with that!
