I did the center brick replacement last night.
This post is to help inform anyone with a WG or any one looking to purchase a WG.
Besides emptying the ash pan and clearing the three tubes of any ash once a week, this is the only other thing I had to do to it since it was installed.
I used a block and a stick to try and lever them out.
It was a little tight and I had to tap it from the bottom as well.
I was hoping to get them out in one piece, why I don't know, but I tried!
You can see the erosion on the shelf where each nozzle is.
It's worse in the back than in the front.
But all in all the shelf is still in great shape.
The erosion is only on the very top edge.

The front one was very tight and I had to place a block on it and tap it in. If I had my grinder home it would have made things a little easier. Boy was I scared of either cracking it or the surrounding concrete. The back one was very loose.
Interesting that they sat about 5/8" higher than the surrounding concrete
I burned 4 little fires to "season" the bricks. One last night and 3 today.
I actually have burned oil to heat the DHW since last night
But know its time to let 'er rip
