Hi: Saw a small pile of wood on the side of the road so I stopped to inquire about it. I barely got out of my car when I was greeted by an older gent that was thrilled that someone wanted it. I ended up staying for about a half an hour while the man made small talk with me and took my name and number because he expects to have more wood. It wasn't much wood and when I looked at it I thought it to be an ornamental tree such as a crab apple. This scrounge was more about connecting with this gentleman, I could tell he loved the interaction. I think I made his day. I have included 3 pics of the wood. I'm sorry they are rotated. Thanks. Dogwood makes sense.

The bark looks like Dogwood but I've yet to see one that large around here. Does it smell like piss? Any dogwood I've dealt with has been very distinguished in that aspect.

It does smell. I think it is dogwood.
