Oh, and it appears that a lot of the similar looking country flame stoves here

may be catalytic stoves. If your insert has a clogged up or missing Cat combuster that could account for some of the problems you are running into. A replacement cat would be up to a couple hundred bucks maybe but that's nothing compared to the cost of a new stove, right?
