We have this beautiful Wood & Bishop wood stove, but need it to be safe for vacation rental, so we are looking at converting at least the cook top to electric. The fire box and oven could just be storage. It's in the Provo Utah area. Does anyone know someone in the area or nearby states that does this type of work?

That is a beauty. Have you had it appraised by a good antique stove dealer? Altering it may devalue the stove, so ask if the conversion is reversible. This place is far from local, but they may be able to help you with locating someone closer.

Ask these folks for an appraisal and conversion info too:

Thank you begreen. I've seen this type of Stove go for anywhere from $5K to $7K, but we are really not interested in selling. And in a vacation rental property, it's pretty much a large, non-functioning work of art that takes up a lot of room in the kitchen since we don't want guests trying to start a fire inside. Yikes.

Thank you for the leads. I was aware of the goodtime stove co (Richard Richardson), but not Stanley Iron Works.

Thanks!
