    Question:

I presently have a manual damper and would like to install a barometric damper on my wood burning stove. Is there any specific place in the flue that it should be placed and would this type of damper aid in a more even burn?

    Answer:

Yes, a barometric damper will aid in a more even burn, especially if you have a bad overdraft. Best to install within the first three feet of stovepipe...in a vertical section if possible.
