Can you switch out the doors on a 1970 door with a new model door with the glass? Found a nice little stove but man I'd love to have that glass.

The models are listed and tested with how they were originally designed and sold, so it would not be suggested to swap doors. This might be an issue if there is a problem with the stove.

The early 602 just had a baffle, no secondary rack.. Once the fire gets going, only the slightest amount of air is needed for it to cruise at temperature. The modern door is leaky for the airwash and to prevent smoldering. The secondary rack boosts smoke combustion. I would be concerned that the modern door on the old stove might lead to an uncontrollable or too robust burn.

I think I read somewhere that the front castings were a little different between them and a new door doesn’t fit on the older stove.
