Harman Stoves, located in Central Pennsylvania, was started in 1979 by Dane Harman. As with many stove companies of that day, Dane first built a stove for himself but was soon deluged with orders from his friends and neighbors. Before long, Harman stove became known as a regional producer of heavy duty coal and wood stoves, furnaces and boilers.

Not satisfied with being a relatively small producer, Harman continued to invest heavily in R&D;as well as top-flight employees and representatives. They expanded to Pellet Stoves and Coal Stokers as well as decorative and functional gas stoves and fireplaces.

In (2006), Harman is in the midst of another expansion with a 250,000 square foot addition to the factory in progress. The renewed popularity of Pellet and Coal fuels have the company scrambling to keep up with orders for it's high quality products. Having already survived many shakeouts in the stove business, Harman Stove seems poised to become one of the major players in the industry.

Update (2008): Over-extended wioth excess debt and cash-shy, Harman was sold to Hearth and Home Technologies (HHT) in Nov. 2007. Dane Harman is still working there and perfecting their products.
