1993 Waterford Trinity wood stove: failed baffles, broken bricks! Is it worth the $1500 to repair it?

Hi folks- first post. Gotta 1993 Trinity with collapsed baffles and brokennup firebricks /crumbling! Repair seems about $1200-1500 USD to repair it myself just for replacement baffles and bricks. I’m in British Columbia so US parts are even more costly. Hoping to find some baffles in Canada if anyone has leads Or advice if worth fixing. No cracks seen in enamelled sides, but what other red flags need checking before rebuild??? Thanks

It's a nice stove, but 32 yrs. old. If it hasn't been rebuilt so far, it is definitely due. IIRC correctly, there aren't a lot of firebricks in this stove, just the floor and one side. The collapsed baffle is a greater concern. They are expensive. If the stove has been run for a long time this way, then there may be collateral damage from heat in the wrong places. Examine the top and rear toward and at the flue outlet for any cracks, even if hairline.

Whether to keep or not is a personal decision. It's a good looking, efficient, classic stove. However, for under $1500 it could be replaced by a new Drolet that will achieve the same heating outcome.
