We've been running the old dinosaur since 2012. The original control panel, has knobs and is very sensitive. Ordered the upgrade panel, but have not gotten it to work...(it may be the wrong part, yet to be determined). Question is; would a thermostat override the control panel setting which is most usually on a low setting, as the manual states it should be for using a thermostat.

Thermostat would only tell it that there is a call for heat. Turn it on or off, or high - low. It wont change heat settings on the board
