Hi!
I have two Englander 25-PDVC / 55-SHP10 pellet stoves and have been working through several issues on them, learning a lot.
The main one we use was working just great, but since yesterday it has been stuck running in what seems to be heat mode 9 regardless of thermostat temp or the heat level I set it to. Yesterday, the power did go out for a second and kick right back on, so I'm wondering if that could have caused issues. Power has gone out several times before over the past 2 years we've lived here, but I understand any one time could cause issues.
We had a thermostat installed on it 1-2 years ago, and it typically goes into low mode when the thermostat hits temp. Since yesterday, it always runs in what seems to be heat level 9. It doesn't matter if I turn the heat level down, or the thermostat triggers it to be off / low mode. I usually run it at 4-6, so I have a good feel for it and it does seem to be running full blast (9) or close to it. And I can definitely tell it's never switching to low mode / heat level 1 like it should. The heat in the house just keeps rising to 72+ even though the thermostat is set to 60-65.
I did the diagnostic mode as well where you unplug and plug it back in and press low fuel feed + air on temp, and when the thermostat kicks it on, I do see the dash (-), and when thermostat kicks it off, it is blank. This should indicate that the thermostat is sending the signal correctly.
I called Englander support, and they didn't have any answers. They had me check the program mode (unplug and plug in then press blower up + down) to verify it's in this model's normal program mode of d. It was in c so I changed it to d, but that made no difference. I might try calling again Monday to see if I get someone else with other ideas.
Any ideas? I'm hoping I don't have to try a new board, as they are 350-450 online.
