I’ve never replaced an igniter, but if this cheap one only works for a short time, the labor and down time would not be worth it for me. I’d pass.

I wouldn't be afraid of it,unless you want a original oem product..I've seen original oem on eBay for 37-40 dallars.
last one i bought on ebay for same amount blew the fuse after few months.claimed it was OEM..
one of the flimsy leads came off the ignitor...better off at a reputable online store..

LOL You guys are funny. The seller you listed is Earth Sense Energy Systems, probably the largest seller of pellet stove parts, and supplies many stove repair shops and people. That cheap? ignitor is on its 3rd year in my stove.

i bought my last ignitor at the above place u mentioned..paid 70.00.
ESES.

the same ignitor is there priced at 30.00 for harman p61a..along with the 70.00 ones.
30.00 one might be cheaper knockoff quality.?
.same deal. 15 fin etc..identical looking.

yes they have come down in price.I heard,a company was importing them in large quantity, which would account for this. Will check on it.

ok.. would like to get a spare one ...

hey... a BIG CORRECTION HERE.:
I did buy a 30 some dollar one from there.last winter as my original had a bare wire and shorted out.
. Not ebay...
that particular $30 one is the one i mentioned whereas one of the leads came off and blew the stove fuse..
I have since bought from them again but paid for the $70 some dollar one..

that's good..
not hard to replace but peace of mind anyways.
could be asian knock offs at $30... i don't know.

If its easy to replace buy two and have the peace of mind as well.
I have been meaning to buy a spare for some time now.
Does any one know whether a 'bad' part just have a shorter life or a very short life ?

either is not good..
I bought a cheapie and it lastd 3 months...looked identical to the better ones..
worth it to spend 40.00 more...

We are into our fifth season on the original Harman igniter and that sucker gets a work out this time of year till the weather gets a bit colder. So I think I would just go with another Harman igniter when the time comes, personally.

the ones we are talking about are all tagged Harmen OEM..
The difference is some are made very cheaply and sold as such..
30.00 is way off for a Harman ignitor for any model..
has to be an asian knockoff..

The photo does show a 14 fin igniter, I don't remember the last time I seen on of those, the distribution says 15 fin.
