I took my outside wood boiler from a 20 degree range and brought it to a 5 degree range and I am burning less wood and it has been great. I am in Upper Michigan and it has been well below zero in the mornings mostly lately.

Please elaborate, what temperature range are you using and how much wood are you saving.

150 degrees and only filling once a day instead of twice a day, before I was filling full at night and half or more in the morning.

What would be the normal range 160 to 180?It would certainly be easier to keep water at 150 than the higher temps. How much water does your system hold?
