ACC knob does not have full travel

I have a Quadrafire Discovery 1, a couple years old. Works great. When I operate it, the ACC knob will go all the way back, but when I pull it forward it stops short of the fully closed position. See picture attached. Is this just a mis-alignment of the mechanism and the plate? It seems to still burn well when fully closed. Is that your experience?

I have the same concern and question. Dealer says it is correct. Seems like it is letting in too much air to me.
