Adjusting pellet delivery on Ravelli RV80 during Flame Light stage

the firepot overfills during the Flame Light stage casing a large lazy flame that produces enough black smoke to discolor the FireX walls.
i was able to reduce pellet delivery during initial startup by adjusting TF2 (Max Load Screw), but this setting apparently does not affect the Flame Light stage.
any ideas?
