Feeling the Heat

Older Accentra Free Standing, new control board (see sig for full info), and what I thought was a good deep cleaning of it outside of the house before the installation inside the house.

It's running fine, in all modes. I've been switching things around with control settings, the stove tracks the changes made readily without issue.

I'm thinking that I should be getting a bit more heat out of the distribution vent though, thinking this by comparing what I've seen in other Accentras, not that I can directly compare side by side. Unfortunately I do not have a thermal gun yet to take actual temps.

The combustion and distribution fans were both blown out with an air hose. Window wash vents blown out. Rear interior blown out. Fines box opened and cleaned. Interior cast iron baffles pulled, cleaned up, and what is behind them scraped and air blasted. New out of box 3" pipes for the vent. OAK installed.

The fans when running are no noisier than other Accentras I've seen.

The flame looks to be burning clean. No issues with the glass sooting up after 8 hours of burning.

Are there any nooks and crannies internal to the stove I should know about, areas that are not obvious to the eye but still need attention?

Once again, all help is greatly appreciated.

Let me ask you this, what mode are you running it in ( I ask because if in room mode and the house is caught up on temp then you won't get a ton of heat out of it and we are experiencing warm weather) ? It's tough to test heat output that way on a Harman. You want to test it ? Put it in Room Auto, feed 4.5 and turn the temp dial all the way up. Give it a good half hour to 45 min. and let us know what happened.

I'm thinking this may be the answer I'm looking for. Most of the burns have been Room Temp (H), Feed at 3, Automatic, Temp set for 65.

Best to wait for a cold day, then complain if I'm having issues.

Looking thorough other posts, on other stove types there always seems to be something that gets overlooked during cleaning and maintenance. I thought I was in the same boat...

Once again, many thanks to all.

I was there earlier this week, and sent some of the videos to my wife so as to explain the operation. If I tried to explain them to her myself I'd just get yelled at.

Whilst browsing around I saw that the Accentra Inserts appear to have a return tube that gets clogged up over time, I was wondering if the FS model also had secret compartments that needed a special handshake to access.

Thanks for the pointer...

Now that is just plain old funny. LOL! ;lol;lol;lol After you adjust to those recommended settings you would come back into the room and look like this !!! _g realizing you no longer have a problem with it pumping out heat while also realizing it is now way to hot in that room. ;)

Alternative hit the nail on the head with the shoulder season and your chosen temperature setting and modes you are running. You will like that stove even more when the cold hits.

Have you serviced the door gaskets or at least given the dollar bill test? I was surprised that a good running stove got a better burn and less pellets used by making sure the gaskets were full and fresh. I push the simple project because of positive experience on several stoves.

Leaf blower.

Leaf blower.

Leaf blower? I installed this last week. Only have a total of 5.5' of venting. I don't think I've got any buildup after 3 or 4 bags of pellets.

But wait 'til next year...I'll cover the neighborhood with soot.

Anybody watching the debate?

I did do the paper test of the gasket, it all seems to be OK. I did pick up a graphite impregnated fire rope replacement, ready for install if needed.

Might be something to do just because.

Next week we've got a family coming to visit for a spell, they're from Venezuela. If I set the stove to those settings they'd be camping out in the living room.

Cows have gas? Got to get me a couple of tankfuls....

Mainly you need to get yourself into a cleaning routine, a regular schedule where you perform certain tasks required and not wait till it's too late the stove starts fighting back. my P 61 will go a couple of weeks with dirty pellets for instance and I should clean the igniter compartment.. Weekly it gets brushed down inside.Monthly I pull the hatch to the combustion blower and dump ashes ( the hatch is behind the ash pan on my stove. You will come to know your own stove on certain grades of pellets in due time.
