Saw this on CL this morning. Figured it's worth posting.

"Found in road Wednesday morning(1/21) between Clifton Park(exit 9/10) and Mechanicville. Please respond to this posting with positive ID of saw, such as make, model, condition of saw, serial# and vicinity where saw may have been lost, to identify and claim. Also, please provide a phone number so that I can contact you. These conditions must be met, to rule out the thieves."

Thanks for the posting ... may not be a forum member but you never know and it spreads the word farther:)

There's a decent human being out there going to the trouble of posting to CL!

I figured it couldn't hurt. He posted the same ad last week with apparently no response, so I thought I'd post it here.

Whoever lost it probably figures it was stolen out of the back of the truck. We had one of ours stolen out of the garage and figured where it likely had gone but couldn't prove it:mad: They also got a Hilti that we didn't have the serial # for and a job box at separate events. They took the core drill out of the job box and left it leaning against the garage door - didn't know the value just needed the next high.
 
Am I wrong for wanting to make up 10 or so email addresses and giving it a shot?
 
Not to come here with a jaded view, but in my area there are constant scams on Craigslist to mine email and cell phone numbers so they can spam you.

Last week I answered an ad for free split and seasoned firewood that a homeowner wanted to get rid of. The ad specified that you text him for details. Because I am reluctant to give out my cell number, I responded to the ad using a temporary email address. The guy responded saying I could have the wood, but only if we could work out the details via text. I told him I could call him from my home phone, but that I didn't carry a cell phone. I never heard back from him.

Sure it could have been innocent, but it seemed strange we couldn't work out the details via email. And my offer to call him from my home phone should have been enough to ease his mind about a stranger coming to his home. It just seemed fishy.
