I am thinking of installing an Electric Boiler for backup on my OWB system. I am thinking of the future when I may want to go to Florida for 2 weeks in the winter (or 2 months) :)

Can you describe your amperage draw to your actual heat gain in your situation.

thanks

Do you have an accurate heat loss calculation or a good history of your Btu/hour need at design temp? If so, you can divide that number by 3413 (btu's per KW). For example: heat loss of 60,000 btu/hour=17.5 KW. Of course if your just looking for freeze protection or moderate indoor temps, you could get by with a smaller unit.
As for amperage: watts= volts x amps. Example: 17,500 watts/240 volts=73 amps

Good luck,
Noah
