I bought this one in 20o9, so it has the Tecumseh engine. The new models may have a B&S engine and I can't speak for those, but I can vouch for the quality of this machine and it makes plenty of power. The snow we get hee in the Northeast has a lot of woter content and can be very heavy. This machine handles everything, all the way to slush.

Here's a video of the recent storm.

3-08-2013 and all I've done to this machine is pour some Mobil 1 15/50 Synthetic in it. (I use that on everything! except my cars which get the M1 5-30W)
