Stoves in the last few years are required to have a hopper lid switch that interrupts the auger from turning when the hopper lid is open. Now that being said we will have a test.

1.) If the hopper lid is in the open position what will happen?
2.) If the switch is broken what will happen? ***hint two choices here and both can be correct**
3.) If the lid has something strange like a PELLET keeping the lid from shutting all the way what is the likely out come?
4.) If the lid has a switch and the switch is closed prior to the lid shutting what will happen?

Answer is............. The auger will not turn. Now what happens if the auger is not feeding fuel to the fire????

wait for it

no fire.

Did we all learn a lesson here today?

This is untrue......I put a hand full of pellets in the burnpot first so it did burn. ;lol

Everyone likes a little ass, no one likes a smart ass. I would know.....

Always wondered why my BigE manual speaks of this hopper switch but it is no where to be found. I can leave that open til it runs out of pellets.

But I had a customer that put pellets into the pot every 5 Minutes cause it was going out on lighting. Called me after 2 Hours - the lid was not closed. They manually fed the stove:)

The plunger on my switch has been duct taped down since the first time I left the lid open too long and put the fire out!!!!
