Baffle gasket hanging down in summit.

I just noticed the baffle gasket is broke and a piece is hanging down (nice) so should I change that as soon as possible (only source of heat) or is it no big deal, someone posted a while back they did not even use one. By the way this is a new stove and the baffle has never been out.

Any chance you can post a pic oldspark? Curious about the gasket myself. Sure seems to be the one flaw of this stove. Apparently it is quite easy to change out and not a big deal if it not changed quickly, let me know how it goes please.

I can take a picture when the stove cools down, I ordered some a while back so I have them on hand.

OS, when things cool off a bit, if you take the coals/ashes out & turn your fan on "high", it will cool down much quicker.

If the stove seems to operate normally aside from the fact of the gasket. Just run it.
If its a pc of the gasket at the front, that area gets secondary anyways, won't affect much.
Prior to next season, make your own out of a pc of 3/8" rope gasket, and you will have no need to change the gasket for years to come.

Did you change it out yet Old Spark? Just noticed mine hanging down this morning. Mananged to get a peice of it out. Flimsy material. Is the replacement gasket from Pacfic Energy any better or is it best to make my own?

I left it till summer, the stove still burns the same so I did not bother for now, the gaskets I bought from chimney sweep are the same thing I believe.
