Baffle Plate Replacement Steel Grade

My Burnham wood boiler has three steel baffle plates that sit just about the firebox and directs gases to the front of a vertical tube sheet. The plates are about 1/4 by 4 by 18 and slide in on some permanent tracks on either end. The originals were obviously built out of something other than A36. I did buy some A36 replacements at some point but they started showing thinning after the first season. The baffles are only supported from the sides and eventually droop down and pull out of the slots. Everytime I bend then back straight they lose thickness so they then droop faster.

Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement grade of steel. I am tempted to try AR plate. I also would probably need to find a place that sells that grade on line.

Someone may come along shortly with a better idea, but what about one of these guys. They work in stoves, should work in a boiler.

I have been considering it but not sure how robust it would be only supported from two sides. I expect it would do a lot better job of keeping the burn temps high as the existing steel strips only droop at different rates so I expect some percentage of the gases do not get redirected.
