Hello everyone, im looking at getting a natural gas free standing fireplace for my basement.

I looking into getting a napoleon but the one I wanted costs 6k at my local dealer. I would be installing it myself with the help of my hvac friend.

I live in canada and would like to get something that'll heat up my basement while I watch TV for 2 to 3 hours. Im probably trying to heat 1/4 of my basement which is the living room and dont really care about the rest, any suggestions?

You need to let us know a couple of things about your planned installation…
What is the square footage is for the area you are trying to heat?
Are the walls insulated?
Are they above ground?

My house is 1450 sq ft so the basement is a little smaller. Im only trying to heat the living room but its open to the entire basement. I have a bedroom laundry room and washroom and then one big room with the living room in the corner.

I live in a 10 year old raised ranch and everything is insulated. Wall are half above half below roughly.
