Yes, some of the original Bixby software and firmware has been recovered and archived through the OpenMaxFire project.
Available archives include:
- BixCheck 5.0.21 with Firmware 2.06
- BixCheck 5.5.00 with Firmware 2.70
- BixCheck 5.5.01 with Firmware 2.71
- Firmware 2.02 (dumped firmware image only)
A quick note on 2.02: this is not a normal BixCheck update package. It is only a firmware image extracted from a controller and does not include the BixCheck software. It is not intended to be flashed using the normal BixCheck update process — doing so can brick the controller and may require manual recovery.
Also, flashing firmware on these controllers does carry some risk. A failed update, power interruption, or communication problem during flashing can potentially leave the controller unusable. It’s a good idea to confirm the current firmware version and what issue you are trying to fix before attempting an update.
We are currently exploring more reliable and less risky ways to flash the stove. Updates coming soon. Project and documentation can be found here:
