blower motor noise

when my fan [blower motor] first starts up on my bio mass 60 it is getting pretty noisy and seems to take a while till it gets up to full speed,i cleaned off the fan blades , but made no difference, is there any thing else that could cause this or is the fan burning out ,it seems to run ok at full speed anv one have to replace there fan motors?

Might want to contact mikefrommaine. I think he had some similar problems with his biomass

Sounds like the bearings are getting sticky or worn out. Sometimes draft motors in various appliances will accumulate a little creosote or pitch on the shaft that will work its way into the front bearing on the motor. You may or may not be able to remove it from the bearing area with a little solvent of some kind (think WD-40)

I've had success with Würth Sabesto HHS 2000. It comes out of the spray can very thin and will wick down small motor shafts nicely. Then the solvent dissipates and leaves an adhesive heat resistant grease that lasts well.

Cool. My fan was just about seized after the first season, had to take it off and get it spinning by hand and then put it back in for each burn. Then treated it with Wurths and it has been smooth and quiet for a couple years since. I've had the same can for ten or fifteen years, little bit goes a long ways whenever there's a call for it.
