Hi ,and thanks for adding me to the forum.
I am try to find info on an old 1984 Heizkessel wood fired boiler, I intend to install it in my workshop and use the flue to heat it and the boiler to heat a 1000 litre buffer tank.
I have all the original literature that came with it but the problem is that it is all in Austrian.
Is there somewhere I can download these documents in English.

Brian, They speak German in Austria. Heizkessel means wood boiler or or more literally heating boiler. The manufacturer of your boiler is Herz. Try this link and see if you can find a manual for your particular model in English: https://www.manualslib.com/brand/herz/boiler.html

It would be worth your time and money to hire a local school teacher
that is either fluent in German teaches the German German language.

Thanks,that's a great idea in principle but we are not able to speak French yet so communication is still difficult plus I don't think German teachers are very prevalent in rural France.
I have tried translation via google but it makes no sense .

You might try emailing or calling the the Herz company. Also there's a forum fairly similar to Hearth.com in the UK. Herz boilers are sold there. You might have some luck if you posted the same question there. I'll see if I saved a link to, or the name of that forum somewhere. I've looked on it a couple times a few years ago.

Thanks, I have emailed Herz and am waiting for a reply so fingers crossed.
I don't think it is too much of an issue about installation it's just it wouid be nice to know the other info in the paperwork as there may be some important do's and do not's.

Good luck Brian. I know how hard it is to get things going when there's a language barrier to deal with. While in the Service I spent almost three years living in the suburbs of Stuttgart, Germany, speaking only a smattering of German. Back then everyone sixteen and younger had been taught to speak English as a second language in school. I'd get lost and then have to chase children around to find out where I was and get directions. Quite embarrassing, not to mention unseemly. Let us know if you have any success. Auf wiedersehen,
