The latest "duck" curve for California is interesting, for a few hours a day, all the power demand is supplied by renewables. Looks like the state needs to deploy lots of storage and load shifting.

Nive level-heafinanded article, that describes the financial impact that the duck has on traditional peakers, and the case it makes for grid batteries (which are being rapidly adopted).

All seems as anticipated years ago. Except the solar might be cheaper than predicted, and the batteries price is on target or perhaps a bit more expensive.
