Hi guys I just wanted to get your opinion what Pellets are you burning in your castle stove hard or soft? I’ve experienced using both types. I found that the hard pellets seem to burn more dirtier leave my glass very black on the door with a lot of ash. I also use the soft pellet stove for about a week and they seem to burn a lot cleaner and leave less ash and debris in my stove. Just wanted to see what you guys were running in yours.
Thanks

I don't burn your stove, but I get the same results from my P61A.
For the last 5 - 6 years I have burned Cleanfire Pacifics Softwood
pellets, which I had delivered from www.woodpellets.com.
Unfortunately, they do not deliver to my area any more.
They burned very clean & the fly ash was so minimal, that I only
had to clean the stove (other than occasional scraping the burnpot
& accordion heat exchanger) after I'd burned a ton.
The softwoods burn HOT.
This winter, I'm burning Curran Hardwoods & the glass is always
dirty & I can only burn about a half ton, before the ashpan is overflowing.
Really disappointed in the Currans, but they do heat my first floor...
