Here is a chainsaw scam alert I recently came across:

First, I found an add on craigslist for the Stihl MS880 Magnum for $600

(broken link removed to http://providence.craigslist.org/tls/4417039800.html)

I emailed the guy to see if it was still available and he emailed back to go to the following website to purchase the chainsaw.

(broken link removed)

In the email, I was give a promo code for an additional 10% off and free shipping.

At first glance it appears to be a real online store - but it is not.

I checked with the BBB and confirmed that it is a scam.

I've seen some of these adds for the knock off Stihl looking saws. One of them even mentioned to "use 25:1 oil mix or warranty will be void". Yep, immitation crap, might as well buy a wild thing.

Unbelievable!

Thanks for sharing

You see a lot of these tractors for 1/3 to 1/2 the price. Usually they have the large print but 9 out of 10
are BS. One had a tractor in Ma. with a pitcher with palm trees in background I might have been born
at nite but not last nite LOL

Yup, gotta watch out for the tell tale signs of a scam.

Usually if it is too good to be true, it is.
