Chimney clean out door

Any options or suggestions for a clean out door? The opening is 7 inches x 4 inches. Most clean out doors are bigger? Any risk of not having a clean out door?

Cut the hole bigger. And yes you need a cleanout door or you will have very limited draft.

Or seal it up (draft) and vacuum out the debris after sweeping from the thimble? (Put a "floor" in a few inches below the thimble)?

Thanks for the response as a temporary fix I fastened a piece of fire board to the clean out. Before I’m up and running I have another issue to address. The clearance from the single wall stove pipe to ceiling was 6 inches. Even with double wall stove pipe I wouldn’t make the correct clearance? I cut out a piece of drywall to see what my options are. Could I frame in the ceiling?

Your pipe is also way to close to the ceiling

mine is 8wide by 10 high, installed with the chimney in 1973.. i can't find any replacement doors that size - only 8x8, 8x12, and 12x12.. should I try to fill it in for an 8x8, or cut the opening wider for an 8x12? it's an 8x8 chimney and the cleanout door (outside frame) sits flush with the basement floor
