Did a search but coming up with everything but what im looking for. Iv seen some posts on here about people using their home made device to clean the fines out of their pellets? Just cannot seem to find the info. Just emptied my hopper and after a month of running i had quite a bit of fines in their. Enough that i was surprised that any pellets were coming through.

Do the accumulation of fines cause issue in your stove? They go through mine and I get the odd bag that has excessive amounts of it but just dump it in anyway, never had a problem. I don't like to have to waste something I paid for.

That's what I was looking for thanks... it's not causing issues yet.. I just let the hopper run down and used the spaghetti strainer go sift out the bottom...lol.. I probably pulled 2 cups of fines out.

I wish that I could get away with just dumping the bags into the hopper but I unfortunately need to clean mine before I load the hopper. If I don’t my top auger will jamb up with the fines. I made a homemade pellet vac out of pvc off the Internet and it’s quick and works great. But it is another step.

Na , you would be surprised. I use a big rigid shop vac with no problem. You just need to feed the pellets fairly slowly.

Guess I'll have to give it a try... if got lots of off pipe around here...
I have never seen a vac with this much suction before home or shop. It was definitely money well spent.... I found this summer when I was draining the pool it had to much suction. It would duck the ball up inside and shut the suction off...
