CO detector went off..here's why

I have a Lopi pioneer. Used it all winter. Works great. Used less than half a tank of fuel oil all winter. In wisconsin. .where it gets below zero.

But..one night my CO detector woke me up. I was convinced it was a worn door seal. So I ordered a new one. Stopped using the stove.

Then a week later, I discovered the window closest to my stove was open just the tiniest bit. And soot had come in, where it was open.


So I learned to be more careful!
 
I'm guessing he has an OAK and the exhaust is closer - but maybe not.
