Cord cutting help-Amazon Fire Recast?

Hoping to get some guidance from more experienced cord cutters. I'm tired of paying $150 a month for nothing more than internet service and TV, but I need a seamless solution that will give me the same TV experience and be easy enough for my wife and kids to use as DirecTV is now. Here is what I need:

• Local channels-ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and PBS
• Weather Channel, Nick Jr., Disney Jr., Food Network, Animal Planet, ABC Family
• DVR

That's really it, but it seems like that combination is hard to come by. We're not really big TV watchers in that we don't binge-watch Netflix, etc...but every morning we flip through the local morning news channels/weather channel, then the kids will watch PBS until its time to go to school. We usually put the news back on while making dinner, etc...and the kids will get to pick an episode from the DVR from one of the "kid networks." Looking at the various streaming services it seems like I can get some of what I need from each, but not everything. The Amazon Fire Recast seems like the closest thing to the type of DVR we're used to in terms of storage, etc...and it also seems like it would allow us to integrate OTA TV pretty well. Anybody using this or something similar?

I purchased a MOHU outdoor antenna with amplifier for local channels. Has worked great now for 3+ years. We also have an Amazon firestick with apps; Netflix, Disney, etc. We can watch local news and sports, but then stream movies and such if nothing is on out local TV. Not going back to cable or satellite!

Capt I live in the sticks, but can still get ATT dsl internet. I think I’m up to 6mbps now! Lol.. but I have several Amazon Fire TV devices. I would suggest the box instead of the stick to help with buffering and lag. With the stick I have several apps that we use to stream, but mainly use Netflix. We are happy with it!
