Picked up some Nation's Choice pellets two weeks ago at Lowes....just 7 bags to see how they are since I've never heard of them (after searching, don't have high hopes so probably won't buy more).

When dumping the bag into the hopper and some buckets for filling the hopper later, I noticed some light colored pellets. Turns out they are yellow...yellow from corn I'm pretty sure.

I put some in a little container and added water to see if they all reacted the same to water. The yellow ones didn't absorb water as quickly as the brown ones and when fallen apart, some of the pieces really appear to be corn!

Anyone else every see this with Nation's Choice or some other pellet brand, like Inferno, which from searching, these seem to be made from the same people?

wow that is a some bull .... did the bag say wood pellets, hardwood mix, or wood with corn ?

how do they burn?

Wish I had those mixed bags. I wanted to try burning another fuel mixed in with wood pellets just to see.

The bag doesn't say what it is, hard or soft. I actually had to look to closely to see what it says: Grade: Premium, Contents: Wood
That is all it says...'wood'
The bag is hardly mixed, I just pulled the corn ones out from the picture. There really are very few of the corn pellets in the bags, just was surprised by the color at first.
