I replaced the window gasket, it was obviously broken. Now I am getting dirty glass almost immediately after cleaning. I suspect it is the door gasket but how do I make sure? There are no apparent flaws in the door gasket but it is about 20 years old. The flame is definitely better after the window gasket replacement.

Dollar Bill test the entire gasket

The "dollar bill test" works well.
  1. Take a dollar bill or similar piece of paper. ...
  2. Place the bill in the door and close it.
  3. Now pull the bill out from the door.
  4. If it slides freely your door isn't sealing properly.
  5. If it doesn't slide open the door, move to another spot, shut door and try again.

Thanks, simple test is what I like.

Just a stupid question but how does a door gasket get door glass dirty?

Not sure, just eliminating the small stuff first

dirty glass is usually an inefficient fire, not enough air
Then again a leaking door gasket would allow air in but not through
the burn pot making for an inefficient fire
Son of a gun answered my own question !! !!!
