Hi folks,

Well, i picked up a 2nd pellet stove off craigslist,
BUT.......................moving it..... they broke the auger motor off the alloy gearbox, go figure, can i scream???

Soooooo either i need to JB weld it back on, or find / buy a whole new motor, or better yet, find a person or shop online here that would have a USED gearbox with a bad motor, or heck a new or BETTER yet find a used motor that runs perfect :)

1. need the whole cup motor with the "lovejoy" motor coupler (my oem one is a Duram # 049099 1 rpm, 0.34 amp, Cont. Duty 6/90 )

2. Auger motor: either gearbox(new/used) or whole motor (my oem one is a Duram # 047029 6pm 1.12Amp, 7/90 )

3. Also looks like it is missing some sheet metal on the back right (when looking at if from the rear)
and maybe also a piece of sheet metal that goes over the cup & auger motors?

Earth Stove WP 50
Serial number 2150
Age = no idea, but the motors seemed to indicate 6/90, i guess june 1990 ??)

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

I don't think that is a very unusuall gear motor assembly. I have two 6 rpm ass. On a Hestia.
Remember that stove is a positive preasure stove with a natural draft exhaust.
Keep it very,very clean.

Thanks Bioburner, were you saying you have two 6RPM motors avail?

Also, when you say a positive pressure stove, what is that and how does that work and cause/effect? (i am thinking logic-wise, it means the stove has to be tight to have no fumes come out into living space, and natual convection meaning it naturally rises the heat fumes out the pipe? (isn't it forced exhaust fumes?)

Thank you for the insights!

Take a look through Ebay . Dozens of pellet stove motors. Many 1 rpm and a handful of 6 rpm

Hi fuelmiser, as Bioburner suggests it should be easy to find a new 6 rpm motor on Ebay.
The original manual is still available here:
(broken link removed to http://www.whitfield.com/resources/manual/Lennox_Hearth_Earthstove_WP50_Pellet_Stove_Installation.pdf)
This manual has a lot of useful information including a wiring diagram.

As we can read in the manual, your WP50 is equipped with the patented Traeger Burn System.
If you have plenty of time and want in-depth enlightment on this burn system, you can study Traeger's patent from 1986 here: http://www.google.com/patents/US4619209
This patent is also available as a pdf ( attached below ).

Good luck and take care. Keep us posted on your progress.

Cheers
Bo

Traeger still employs that principle on their pellet grills, I have one btw.

I am really Confused on OEM motor 1rpm vs 1.2rpm ???????

Hi Folks,

This is confusing, my bad cup motor shows 1 RPM, but these Pellet stove parts suppliers all have different RPM's for the same stove, what the heck?
So i see online that the OEM motor is a Earth (now Lennox) # 15060 at 1.2 RPM, so then maybe this means the motor currently on the stove is either a swapped motor, or maybe originally it was 1.0 RPM by the mfg, but then the mfg moved to 1.2 RPM???? confusing???

The cheapest priced motor is on Amazon = 1RPM, while the rest are 1.2RPM?
(also i did see some possible after market matches at 1.1 RPM also, so i am seeing my 1rpm, vs 1.1 vs 1.2rpm)

I prefer to save the money and order the Amazon 1.0 RPM one, but i am NOT 100% sure it is a direct replacement, it sure looks like it, but they are not smart enough to give more cross reference matches, like for my motor or it would be nice if they listed the Earth/Lennox # 15060, gee whiz.
While my existing bad CUP motor us a Durham # 047099 1RPM .34 amps (surprised it is not a MerkleKorff like everyone else seems to have)

Also noteworthy, both my cup and auger motors are Durham, so that makes me think this stove came OEM with Durham, but then again maybe a local dealer swapped them both with Durhams in the past???

CUP motors found so far:
$56 free shpg form Amazon
1.0 RPM - Shaft: 3/8" x 1" with flat - Torque: 100 inch pounds, Continuous Duty, 2.75" x 4 5/8"
http://www.amazon.com/Pellet-Auger-..._sbs_hi_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=143PANQN7M9Z9EEM95H0

$70 1.2RPM 3/8” Dia. x 1 1/8” Length Shaft, Clockwise (sold by Earth Sense)
They don't tell you either who it is made by, although they boast made in USA, really??? (if so, they would boast Dayton??)

$138 1.2RPM WoodHeat Stoves dealer has the matching cup motor, but it is 1.2 RPM & they say made by earth and Lennox part # 15060
(broken link removed to http://woodheatstoves.com/earth-stove-cup-motor-12-rpm-earth-stove-part-15060-p-1649.html?cPath=424_744_429)

$133 these guys claim a direct match!!!!!

p.s. I called the original owner of this stove, and he believes he has the sheet metal and lovejoy motor coupler, so i may be OK on these missing parts when he calls me back later today, man i hope so, what a nice thing that will be, can you yahoo!!!!
(when i picked it up a year ago from him, he never mentioned the parts and i was NOT smart enough to figure it out on the spot, dummy me)

does anyone know the merkle korff part number match this stovea CUP motor , because it seems many suppliers can cross reference merkle korff , but not Earth or Durham ?

Any sheet metal out there for the rear cover and cover opposite the control panel side (rear left when looking at it from the rear)

I now have all the sheet metal, i picked it up from the original owner this past weekend, can you Yahoo, he still had it, aint that great!!!
