3rd yr with eckoteck Monica, tried many brands of pellets, stove must be shut down up to 3 times a day to keep running. Stove shop has helped try to fix it. They have quit selling the brand n wants to put us in a gas birtchwood( I think). Thoughts?
I enjoy the Elena but it does prefer pine or pine blend pellets. Don't know how to really guide you on this. My be your dealer is in over his head on the stove and its operation.
Good luck

they truly have went above and beyond, still helping fix it after 3 yrs. only ever charged us once. he will sell us a raw cost stove, since he wants to do the right thing, we have tried every brand of pellets in our area. just not sure if we want to go gas like they recommend, or do a pellet stove that will use any pellets and be forgiving,
Sounds like your pellets are the problem. What does your dealer do to "fix" it??
My Ecoteck burns for a week, thru 4 or 5 bags of pellets before I clean it out.
How often do you do a complete cleaning, including the rear clean-out ports (need to take off the side panels to access these ports)?
Actually, you should sell me your Ecoteck.........I am in West Central NJ....and looking for another Ecoteck
it does seem like its pellet related. I usually totally clean it vent, behind panels, pull inducer, above heat exchanger etc. every ton. I finally got info to change settings. I would be very interested to hear what everyone has there smoke speed set at. The problem we were having was every 6 hours the burnpot would have clumpy hard ash residue that needed cleaned out. It would appear as stove didn't have enough air. The stove was just totally cleaned. I just burned 8 hours on level 3 for 8 hours and burnpot was clean. The factory level 3 setting is 1950. I am currently running at 2550. I don't want to throw efficiency out window but also know it wasn't running properly before. I know have ability to change settings so I am going to experiment. Would be interested what other ecoteck owners settings are. Thanks.
Thing is with factory settings is that you may have a bit more venting and need to have a little more draft to pull the air through your pot and help keep things cleaner. I have very little venting, a 45 elbow and two feet of vent and that's it, so its very easy to power draft. I regularly do the LBT and only at end of season go behind the stove and clean.

Mine is the Francesca but on heat 3 mine is 1580 my stove is also a RDS stove which once setup determines the fan speed, I can fine tune the speed but the RDS determines the starting point.my vent setup is out then up 5ft.
I once did the service menu "calibration" procedure and played with some fan speed value, but that was not a big RPM value change. In the regular user menu, I run with the vent setting at +5% and the pellet setting at -5%. The stove will gradually produce a clump in the firepot, but it can last for a week before a cleaning is needed. I know when it's time because the sound of the combustion will change! It's a kind of hissing sound, caused I guess by the higher airflow in the remaining open holes. My stove is staying at heat level 1 most of the time and will toggle between heat level 1 and 3 in cold snap just like the one we have right now. I bet a Monica running mostly at or above heat setting 3 would not clog. I think it's also related to the pellet brand used.
Here are the factory settings from my non-RDS Elena (Ecoteck/Ravelli)
Note that "Speed Smoke" (combustion blower) is matched to the pellet feed rate "Screw Power", and this model is a 48,000 BTU max. Since you Monica is a 35,000 BTU max stove, I would expect the Screw Power feed rates to be somewhat smaller, about 35/48.
Speed Smoke P1=1800 RPM, Screw Power 1=1.5"
Speed Smoke P2=1900, Screw Power 2 =1.8
Speed Smoke P3=2000, Screw Power 3 = 2.1
Speed Smoke P4=2100, Screw Power 4 = 2.5
Speed Smoke P5=2200, Screw Power 5 = 3.0
and for the automatic cleaning cycles, the "Smoke Fan Cleaning" is 2400 RPM
My stove runs all week, and I do get some caked-on ash deposits on the back wall of the burn pot, but it does not seem to adversely effect the burn, and it comes off very easily when I clean the stove every 4 to 7 days.
