i just bought a used quadra fire pellet stove. hooked it up and it ran great for 20 min than the auger shut off as soon as the distribution fan kicked in. tried resetting it and the same thing happened

What did you reset? Was it a snap disc? Possible bad snap disc. Try jumping it and if problem doesn't persist, bad snap disc.

its a 1100 quadra fire pellet insert. there is a reset on the side with an amber light. i tried wiring the thermostat direct to see if that was the problem but same results. there is a board box above the reset that clicks then the auger shuts off and the stove goes out,the green led light on the box stays lit

I'll bet the stove is plugged with ash...

Link to manual.

Page 17 is start of trouble shooting.

Look at #12 and #15 on page 18.

Could be the thermo-couple or snap disc #2.

I think the amber light means a thermocouple error.

Sounds like the thermo-couple to me. It's not sensing the stove is lit so it is shutting down the feed.

If you see the green light, then you reached 200 degrees but if you don't see the red light (not the 'call for heat' red light) then you never reached 600 degrees operating temperature so it shut down. Make sure that the thermocouple is slid all the way into the ceramic cover and is up against its end. If the green light came on then the thermocouple could very well be OK because it is sensing heat.
