New to pellet burning, and my used stove1
I'm looking to see how I should expect the auger, burn pot, and ash build-up to look ... and work.
I've only burned 5 bags of (the same) pellets so far, and cleaned everything twice. (mostly testing ... building inspector should be here tomorrow to check out the install).
I've heard stories of the fire, burning it's way up the auger, and starting a hopper fire. That doesn't sound like a good thing. Is too much of a build-up of ash & embers in the burn pot a cause of this, or something else, more common? Is normal operation, for the auger to push pellets forward, that in tern, push ash and maybe some not fully burned embers out of the pot, onto the bottom of the stove? (no ash drawer in my model). Am I a worry wort, constantly checking the fire to see if there is 'too much' ash in the burn pot, turn everything to 'low' on the stove, open the door, and clean out some of the ash accumulation in the burn pot ... or should I just let the thing .. do it's thing, and the ash will take care of itself?
Thanks in advance.
Dennis
