Been having trouble with my 25-PDVC and trying diagnosis mode. When it starts the diagnosis mode it says I should get a number in the readout for the heat sensor. But I get no number just a dash. Does this indicate a problem with the heat sensor? What number should be displayed? Also should the top auger run considerably slower than the bottom auger in this mode?

Looks like when in diagnosis mode my lower auger is turning 4 times for each rotation of the top auger can anyone confirm if this the way it's suppose to be? I have switched wires and both motors run slower when connect to wires for top auger.

ok, first step, unplug, replug quickly press LBA and AOT (2 fingers) and release, it looks like you are pressing the LFF and the AOT which skips the heat sensor part.

and when you are in diagnostic the two augers should both run non stop and at the same speed, is the top one cycling?

Mike, your correct I was pressing LFF and AOT, just tried the LBA and AOT and it's not going into diagnostic, just showing the feed and fan setting. When in the diagnostic before the top auger was running continuously but at 1/4 of the speed of the lower auger. When I switched the wires on the augers the lower then ran continuously but at 1/4 of the speed of the other. So the slow speed is with the wiring for the upper auger.

ok, is it continuous but slow on the upper circuit?

also , what is the year model of the unit?

the display up top should read numbers are they the same as you had the stove set for? try setting on 1-1 and retry and see if you get a different reading

model number 25-PDVC/55-SHP10
serial #WHI-078157 or 67 hard to read.
mfg date 8/08 I think this was a remanufactured stove.

ok changed feed and fan to 1-1 and did restart with the LBA and AOT and readout come up 8-9, the 9 changed to 5,6,7 and settled on 9. Sorry about the earlier post I had the feed and fan set real high to see if it would feed enough to keep running and thought I was getting that.

ok, heat sensor is reading properly , (anything in the 8's is good for room temp) im concerned about the top auger running so slow, what does the stove do when you try to run it?

I am getting an E2 after it tries to start and doesn't, if I press start again right away most times it will start up but after it gets a small fire going it doesn't feed enough pellets to keep burning and goes out and shuts down. Most times when I hit the start the second time I throw a handful of pellets in the the burn pot to help it get going.

ok. we probably need to talk, PM me a good daytime phone number and when I get to my office Monday i'll give you a jingle. I got a feeling this may be a bad control board but i'd prefer to go over it with you first to be sure as boards aren't cheap.

would be better, I can swing it anytime from 8am to 7 pm eastern so if need be I may can work around your work. i'll be honest probably 7 in 10 its going to be an issue with the control board that I cant fix without a board replacement, but I know just about everything that board is capable of so there may be a way to correct this even though its probably not odds on to be successful, I just like to be certain before I "spend other people's money" on parts.

Just wanted to thank Mike from Englander Stoves for the phone call and help. He went above and beyond what most companies will do to help out a customer.

Oh man, leave us hanging won't ya !

How about the gritty details then eh ? :p

Yeah, what was the outcome? New board? New Stove? Oil heat? Electric heat? Moving to Islamorada?

i found an issue with his control board, we had sold him this board a couple years back. the issue with the board is one i have not seen exactly and i wanted to see if i could figure out what the deal was with it, so i sent a replacement board to get the unit up and running and he is shipping me back the board with the issue so i can pick it apart and try to figure out what caused the issue. since the issue is rare enough that i have not seen it beforre coupled with our having relatively recently sold this board to the customer i went ahead and replaced it. (mostly so i could get it back to play with)

Thanks Mike ... So you're on a quest and all it cost you was a new board and postage! Probably best to get it figured out to rule out supplier problem...

Sorry for not giving out all the details.A lot of companies would have just said you need a control board and sold me a new one. Mike figured just from my posts that it was very probably a board problem but wanted to make sure before I spent the money. I was very surprised when he offered to send me a new board. I guess I just got lucky mine was an oddball problem he hadn't see before. Thanks again Mike.
