I recently received a new combustion blower from Englander and immediately took notice that the "noisy" Fasco motor was replaced with a new "quiet" P-TECH. Unbelievable improvement and kudos to Englander for the improvement!! Here are the specs: P-TECH Model 8121-1283. 115v/60Hx 1.05A 3200RPM AO It apparears that the motor is strictly built for Englander. P-TECH website is quite vague: ptechusa.com/

Thank you Englander as this is a HUGE improvement :)

Which stove did it go into, the PDV or PDVC?

Both have the same blower, but this one went into my PDVC!

right! I failed to fully read that it was the combustion blower. I wonder if they are also using a quieter motor for convection blowers.

I called Englander tech service and was told they have changed the motors on both combustion & convection blowers!!! FANFREAK'NTASTIC :cool: I can only speak about the combustion blower, but all I can say is the P-TECH is QUIET compared to the nails on chalk board Fasco!!!

I run my pdvc hard. still have both original fasco motors and they seem pretty quiet to me. this is from 2006 and its the sole heating appliance for the house since then.

Sounds like you got 2 from the "non" noisy batch LOL!! I sent you a PM last week and I think now I have found a remedy. It gonna be in the 60's and even 70 on Thursday!
