I am looking at different pellet stoves, and this website has been very imformative. However, I still have a few questions I can't seem to find direct answers to. I am looking at the englander 2200 SqFT model for its price primarily, but I have these questions:

1) How much of a hassle is the englander stove since it does not have an ash pan. It seems like this would be a huge drawback of this pellet stove.

2) I have seen references on this site about a new model, but it doesn't appear listed on the englander website. How would I know if it is a new model (ie what are the differences?)

Thanks!

Hi erichris,

For starters, Welcome to the Fourm! I'm not an offical greeter but I notice this is your first post and this forum has helped me quite a bit to say the least.

1) As far as the ashes go - I only empty mine about once a week more or less, but then that too depends on how much is being burned. Typically though when I add a bag, I move the ash that is built up in the fire pot to the sides, then every couple of days or so I'll scoop the ash out that's on the sides with a modified kitchen spoon to keep it from being built up too much between my weekly / bi-weekly cleanings... So it is not a pain, just take a couple of extra seconds. My guess even with an ash pan one would still have to clean it thoroughly once a week or so anyways.

2) Yes there seems to be a couple of new models as I noticed one was listed on HD's site, and I would be interested in the specs as well... but I think the Stoveguy from Englander will answer that one for you.

As far as I am concerned and what has been my experience with Englander - Best support that I have ever came across!

Thank you everyone for the information! It looks like the new model has an ash pan, one of my concerns with the old model. What are the differences in specifications other than that?

Everything.....but more money too.
They have not published full specs to my knowledge - PM or email Mike.

Mike, do you know when they will be starting production on the 25-EP?
