Feeds too much pellets

I have an ashley ap5710 that seems to act like it is on setting 2. The rate of feed is aurgar 2 seconds on off for 7 seconds.whitch gives a feed rate of 5 .To 6 hours on 20. Pound hopper i would like to have it last 8 to ten hous. Since at this rate my house is too warm . 75 to 80 degrees . any ideas on how to slow the rate of feed?manual says that on low it should last about 13 hrs

If you are running on your lowest setting and you have a good flame there’s not much more that can be done. Maybe make your own hopper feed plate to govern how many pellets get into the auger.

Many control panels have a fine adjustment for the pellet feed rate, usually right next to the auger feed switch. If you have one, it may be under a cover or maybe just a hole you could reach it with a small screwdriver.

With the contrl board buried in the back of the stove and just a bubble switch daughter board for the user interface. I dont think the settings are changed very easily. but with a statement on pg 14 of the stoves manual (TAMPER WARNING
This wood heater has a manufacturer-set minimum low burn rate that must not be altered. It is against federal regulations to alter this setting or otherwise operate this wood heater in a manner inconsistent with operating instructions in this
manual.) makes me think Dave may be on to something. Exploring the board would be the first thing i would do. Unless there is a dealer/mfgr hidden menu in the programing.

There was a handful of stoves that used this board (mine is one of them), and for setting 1, I have something that says ON 1.8 sec, OFF 6 sec. 2 says ON 3.0 sec, OFF 4.5 sec. So your 1 sounds pretty close actually.

I get 25-30 hours on a bag on setting 1, depending on pellet size.

Feed rate can vary with pellet size. Are your pellets all very tiny bits? That might make them feed a lot faster. I doubt there is a feed control plate, but if you wanted you could try making one. Just a piece of sheet metal that covers the hopper bottom so it doesn't slide around, with a window cut maybe half the size of the opening for starters. The only problem is if you do have occasional long pellets they'll not go through and stop the fire.

I agree the board on these is more than likely a combination of buttons only known by techs, that is if it even has any adjustability at all. I've had mine out and never noticed anything like that.

I have the same stove, same problem. Making a device to slow down the feed sounds like a recipe for disaster. Other web posts have a similar problem and indicate a poor response from the tech service. I'm calling Tractor Supply and see if I can get my money back. BTW, I did install it with approved 3 IN double wall pipe within all specs. Very disappointed with product, have to get up during dead of night to refill hopper, no better than a wood stove. The front glass also smokes up within 15 minutes.

I have different stove but through the control board im able to set the feed rate for setting 1. I have the option for 3 different levels

Just got off the phone with USSTOVE tech service. The tech is going to send me a new auger motor upon receipt of receipt from Tractor Supply. She believes that the auger motor is the problem somehow, it does make a clunking sound when running. Her name is Kelly at email address; [email protected]. Very professional, there is hope. Surprisingly, they pay $30 / hr to hired tech or owner upon successful fault cure. We'll see if it all works out. Stay tuned, I will report on outcome. BTW, there is no path I can find to change feed rate on this stove, simple controls.

I bought this on eBay...designed by a forum member for Serenity. No reason it won’t work for other stoves.

Seems to work good...lots of adjustment.
