Anybody use em? I have a 100' tall oak that is about 34" across I have to get down. The husky site shows how to do this with a smaller saw, but suggest felling wedges also.

If the rope breaks, it can snap back at you and cause grievous injury. I saw a video from the late 1970's of a big tug of war at a picnic....the rope snapped, and took fingers off the first few people on both sides. I use a 3/8 steel cable to pull trees down.

I have cut down a lot of trees over the years. I have a saw mill I cut for funiture quality lumber.
Once I took out a 60 foot hickory tree that had been hit. It was badly burned on one side and the bark had
been blown off in a strip about 12" wide all the way up.
When I cut that tree down it came down in a twist and laid 90 degrees oppsite I had aimed.
On review I found that internal fibers in the tree had fractured in a spiral caused by the lightning.
I will never drop a tree that has been hit by lighting
with out limbing it first. And topped to not over 20' tall.
