Here's the pic of my fireplace access panel. Fireplace was last used more than 2 years ago. I set gas to On, put black knob to pilot, hit the red button simultaneously, it lights up in one click. As shown in second pic. I held the buttons in their position for 30 sec or so. I let both buttons, and turn knob to ON. Flip on/off switch to On. Next i turn wall switch to On, it does nothing. I tried flipping wall swtich 3 -4 times, no luck. I believe my procedure is right. Since fireplace is not used in last 2 years, i guess it need some servicing. Can you suggest some steps which i can do to troubleshoot? It's heatnglo SL-750TR-C model. Thanks.

Can you hear a “click” from the gas valve when you flip the switch to on? If not it may be stuck closed. Try tapping on the valve with a plastic handle of a screwdriver.
If there IS a click, which indicates the valve has opened, you may have a spider’s nest behind the burner orifice, & you will have to pull the log set, burner & the orifice to check. Once the orifice is out, wipe the inside of the gas line behind it with a Q-Tip or a pipe cleaner, & reassemble…
If, after re-assembly, it STILL won’t light, you need to use a multimeter to determine the milliVolt output of the thermopile. Set the meter to VDC & place the probes on the TP & TH-TP terminals. The pilot usually needs to be generating 500-550mV for the valve to open. It there is little or no mV, replace the thermopile…
