We just bought a Fisher Fireplace Insert. It needs a bit of work but the one thing that has got my husband and I puzzled are the front door baffles. It looks like one of them needs to be replaced but we don’t have any idea about how to go about it. Tried looking online to seeing if there was one that we could buy from a 3 party vender but haven’t had any luck. I called a local welding shop and inquired about making one and they said they could possibly but only if it was out of steel and not cast iron. Has anyone had any luck buying one online that was made for another brand or if you had to have one made what specifications did you use? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is no door "baffle". Perhaps you have nickel plated doors with the optional heat shield. They are not necessary, shown in the manual as optional and most plated doors don't have them. Any piece of steel plate can be cut and drilled to replace the damaged piece, but not required. They simply use the air intake draft cap bolt and are nutted to the inside of door. These?

Nickel gets harder with heat, unlike chrome that peels. If it gets discolored, polish with an all metal polish such as Maas for brass, nickel, silver, gold. Not aluminum polish.

There are no 3 rd party vendors selling Fisher parts. The original draft caps are available from a foundry in Oregon (Barr's Castings) that has the original molds and the original paint is from Forrest who makes Stove Bright products. (Satin Black or Metallic Rich Brown) Door spring handles from Woodman's Associates are available in brass and nickel to match. Hinge pins are simply solid rivets. Keep them greased along with draft cap threads with silver anti-seize and you shouldn't need any other parts.
In case you need firebricks, they are cheap and the standard size available at most masonry supply stores.
