Picked up this stove yesterday cheap from a Facebook add local to me.

Needs a paint job and a few fire brick other than that stove is very solid.

I am in South West Va wondering if there is any way to tell wear this stove was made. I looked all over it and can't find any welded initials etc on the stove anywear.

Apparently the previous owners burned coal in it as they gave me the coal basket with it.

Really don't need the stove as I am burning a ashley wood/coal stove in my basement now.

It's a Grandpa, and the trademarked name is spelled Papa.
Dunn Brothers no doubt. They covered Virginia and West Virginia.

I am currently burning a 2004 vintage Ashley bcac coal / wood stove

It really does fine heating my house (stove in basment).

Is there any advantage to installing this papa bear instead?

House is 1501sf full basment
