Hi all..... (new member to this site)
I am familiar with Fisher wood stoves....my dad has been heating his house for 40+ years with a Grandpa Bear stove. It's got the square doors and the channel door seal. So from what I've determined from reading on this site it's probably from the late 70's.
I just purchased a Grandpa Bear stove for my son. It has 76 on the door....so it's the 1976 addition. It has the round door seal. (We have not installed the stove yet.)
Question.....does the round door seal work well? I know the doors on my dads stove with the channel design are perfect.
What about the round door seal? Is it good? The doors appear to close well.
What about the newer stoves with the castle doors? How do they seal? A curved channel?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Shawn
