Hello everyone,

I just finished installing my Enviro Milan insert. It was the perfect stove for the size of the fireplace and hearth.

I have been adjusting the damper to set the burn rate. The flames will surge up and down. At some points the flames are low and then they build up quite a bit. How much of this is normal or should the flames be a constant intensity level? The stove puts out plenty of heat and does not go out, I am just wondering if there is some other setiting I should look at.

The Milan uses room combustion air. I have installed a 4" liner in my flue, that is 21' long.

BTW, I am burning CUBEX pellets. The price here in Ottawa is $250 / Ton delivered.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I think this is normal, I have the enviro mini and I get the same thing, yet its still kicking with the heat, I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as the flame looks good, and its not going out completely.

check this was a post of mine

JW, Your install looks beautiful! Pellets del. in So. NH running at $350 and min. 2 Ton order.

I was told by a dealer that if the damper is open to much the pellets in the pot are burnt up to quick and the pot has to refill for the flame to come back up. He said the pot has to have fuel in it to keep a more constant flame. I lowered my damper and got a more constant flame ,and using a thermometer in the heat exchanger output, got more heat too.
